SIGNIFICANCE OF PRAYER AND FASTING

Prayer and fasting are vital elements in drawing closer to God, seeking His guidance, and experiencing transformative spiritual breakthroughs. Prayer and fasting allow us to align our hearts with God's will and cultivate a deeper intimacy with Him. The mystery of fasting is a major principle throughout the bible. It is essential to accessing the infinite possibilities of the Kingdom life.

PURPOSE OF FASTING

01

Purity

Fasting starves the flesh so that the Spirit can be nourished. It facilitates the breaking of the bondage of sin in our lives- Isaiah 58:6;I Cor. 9:27; Matt. 16:24

02

Revival

Fasting brings an awakening of our spirit-man. It gives you a renewed and constant awareness of God’s presence- Isaiah 58:9, Daniel 9:1-3, Jonah 3:5-10

03

Guidance/spritiual sensitivity

Fasting facilitates fellowship and intimacy with God; which in turn quickens your senses of interaction with the realm of the spirit, such that you are able to receive guidance and direction by the Spirit- Is. 30:21, II Corinthians 4:18, Is.40:29-31

04

Humility/Brokenness

Fasting brings you to a place of brokenness. A place where you see yourself as worth nothing; a place where you absolutely need God in your life- Is. 58:5

05

Power

During fasting, you experience fresh power to overcome unseen forces militating against you- Is. 58:6, Luke 4:14a, Matthew17:14-21, II Chronicles 20:1-30

06

Healing/Deliverance

According to Paavo Ariola (Health expert), “Fasting is the oldest therapeutic method known to man, even before the advent of the medicine man and in the healing arts. Man instinctively stopped eating when feeling ill and abstains from food until his health was restored.” Fasting is the body’s most natural way of getting rid of harmful toxins and causes the mind to think clearly.- Is. 58: 11b&c

CONCLUSION:

As we conclude this 21-day journey of prayer and fasting in the embrace of "2024—The Year of Immense Testimony," we stand on the height of a profound spiritual transformation. Guided by the steadfast theme, "And you shall have a testimony" (Psalm 66:16), and anchored in the empowering motto, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11), we have traversed the realms of praise, worship, prayer, fasting, outreach, and spiritual growth

Throughout these sacred days, our emphasis on praise and worship has been a melodious symphony, lifting our spirits to commune with our Father. In the sanctity of prayer and fasting, we've sought the profound presence of the Almighty God, surrendering our desires and burdens at His feet. The echoes of our outreach and soulwinning endeavors have resonated, reaching the hearts of those yearning for the saving grace of our Lord.

As we immersed ourselves in spiritual growth, the transformative power of the Holy Spirit has been palpable, molding us into vessels fit for the Master's use. The environment of prayer and fasting, charged with the commitment of our collective supplications, has created a sacred space where miracles have been birthed, testimonies sown, and lives forever changed.

Our devotion to this prayer and fasting journey has not been without purpose. We have sought the face of God, not merely for personal gain but with anunderstanding that the testimonies we carry are not for selfish hoarding. Rather, they are beacons of light, illuminating the path for those who still wander in darkness. The testimonies we anticipate are not solely confined to personal victories but extend to the collective triumphs of a unified body of believers. They are the evidence of a church on its knees, fortified by the blood of the Lamb and armed with the transformative power of God's Word. We emerge from this sacred time not as individuals boasting of personal achievements but as a testimony-bearing community, ready to declare the goodness and faithfulness of our God.

As we move forward into the uncharted territories of 2024, let our testimonies echo in the corridors of eternity, testifying to a God who hears, a Savior who redeems, and a Spirit who transforms. The journey doesn't end here; it now transitions into a continuous rhythm of praise, thanksgiving, and a steadfast commitment to live out the testimony we carry into every facet of our lives.

May our testimonies resonate far beyond these 21days, becoming a resounding proclamation of the glory of our Lord and the victory found in Him. In the words of our theme, "And you shall have a testimony," let us step into the future, as living testaments of the immense power and faithfulness of our God. Amen.
